HMRL managing director N.V.S. Reddy said, “We are working on a monthly pass and it should be feasible. We will try to make a combined pass for both the Metro and RTC. Iinitially the smart card will continue as the Metro Raill pass. We requested L&T to take a call and come up with a scheme as early as possible.”
For easy switching between Metro Rail, RTC buses and other modes, L&THMR will be coming out with a common ticketing mechanism. L&T Metro Rail has signed a contract with the State Bank of India to introduce common mobility cards.
Smart Card costing ₹200 each with ₹100 as the initial top-up amount for travel and ₹100 towards security deposit — earlier launched by the IT & Municipal Administration Minister K.T. Rama Rao at the Nagole station — will be available from Sunday onwards from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Nagole, Tarnaka, Prakash Nagar and S. R. Nagar.

Hyderabad Metro Weekly Pass is now a flexible 7-Day Pass, good for 7 consecutive days starting the first day it is used, rather than for a specific calendar week.
Similarly, Metro’s Monthly Pass is now a 30-Day Pass, good for 30 consecutive days starting the first day it is used, rather than for a specific calendar month.
That means you can buy your Metro pass on your schedule:
- Avoid waiting in the end-of-month lines at pass sales outlets.
- Purchase your pass any day of the week or month without waiting for an “on-sale” date.
- Choose when your pass starts – the 7-day or 30-day time period begins the first day you tap.
A special discount of five per cent is being given to the smart card users. Otherwise, tokens or smart cards can be purchased at any of the 24 stations between Miyapur and Nagole (30 km route) from November 29 onwards, a press release from L&TMRH said.
